Fausto Coppi on the Galibier

Includes 10 nights accommodations & all breakfasts and dinners.

The trip of a lifetime.  We will take in the best of the beautiful as we explore the gorges and cliffs of the The Vercors region.  The Vercors is a superb place for cycling for many reasons. The scenery is incredible, the roads are quiet, and the gradients are often more gradual than in the high Alps.

After a few days of the Vercors we will head into the High Alpes to tackle the best of the epics like Alpe D’Huez, the Galibier, Croix de Fer and the Col de la Madeleine to name a few.  The Tour de France has staged many epic battles on these routes.

What kind of cyclist enjoys this trip?

This trip is aimed at the road cyclist (drop bars, clip in shoes and lycra clad men and woman) who wants to challenge themselves.  You should be open to rides of up to 125km in length.  The typical day is 2-3 hours of riding before lunch and then another 2-3 hours after lunch

Incredible Vercors roa

There is no need to have ridden 125km days before but these kind of days should be on your personal hit list. Some days are easy (60km of flat riding) and some are hard (100+km with a couple of mountain passes).

 Where will we be?

We fly into Lyon, France and then spend the first few days in the Vercors regionnear Grenoble.  This area has moderate riding with unreal landscapes and roads.  We then move into the Alps near Lac du Varency.  This is the land of the classic Tour de France battles.  Some of the climbs on our radar include Alpe D’Huez, the Galibier, Le Croix de Fer and the Col du Glandon to name a few

What if my partner is not an avid rider?
Although this trip is aimed at cyclists, non-cyclist will have plenty to do if they enjoy hiking, walking, spas and relaxing in the mountains. They are also welcome in the support van to see the sights.
